Aunt Beck's Apple Pie

1 unbaked deep dish pie shell
3 tart apples
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 stick butter
1/2 cup flour
2 tsp. cinnamon

Peel apples, and slice in small pieces. In a bowl mix apples with 1 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Put in pie shell, cut 1/2 stick of butter into small pieces. Place on top of apple mixture. Mix flour, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Spread over apple mixture, cut 1/2 stick of butter into slices. Place over flour mixture, this will form the crust for the pie. Cook for 45 minutes to an hour at 350 degrees. Allow pie to sit for about 30 minutes before slicing.

Editor's Notes
1. I used Granny Smith apples
2. Necessary to use a deep dish pie plate
3. Place a cookie sheet under pie while baking to catch liquid.

Enjoy!

First of all, YUMMO on the pie! It sounds delish... now only if I had a pie pan... :)

Thanks so much for the post on the wedding day survival guide! I attempted a VERY small one for my BFs wedding last July. But those ideas are AWESOME - I love some of the ideas people added as well (straws to drink out of!).

    Anywho, thanks for the post!!!
